 افريل حلمها تكون مطرب من و هي صغيرة .. وبدات تغني و هي عمر سنتين .. بدات تغني في المهرجانات الريفية .. وغنت الموسيقى الريفية وعمرها 10 سنوات .. وهي في الــ 12 من عمرها فازت بجائزة كبيرة خاصة في مسابقة محطة اذاعية محلية .. غنت فيها مع المطربة شانيا تواين .. و في الـ 13 من عمرها بدات في كتابة الاغاني .. و العزف على الغيتار .. و فازت ب1000 $ في مسابقة مواهب و هي في الـ 15 من عمرها كان تعيش بطريقة الاولاد اكثر من البنات .. وهذا وهو عندها 3 صديقات قريبات منها … بس كانت تحب طريقة الاولاد في العيشة اكثر .. :d و أوقفت من المدرسة ثلاثة مرات لتفويت الدروس و بدء المعارك الفرصة الذهبية في رحلة إلى مدينة نيو يورك , أفريل لافين كانت محظوظة .. علشانها كانت في المكان المناسب . كانت تغني في استوديو فلفتت انتباه) أنطونيو لا ريد), سوا عقد معها مع سجلات( اريستا ) ..  صوره افريل وهي صغيره
